2019 "License to Chill" Blood Drive

It all started with one person saying yes.

Who would have figured 21 years later we'd still be saving lives in the Keys by giving someone the gift of life. This is our blood drive's 21st Anniversary. And we are shooting to make this our lucky 15th year in a row as THE LARGEST BLOOD DRIVE in the KEYS!

It still blows my mind what y'all have done to make this project such an incredible success.

We will be in the place in front of the Casa on Seminole. I am hoping on Thursday, October 31st that we'll have 4 bloodmobiles parked there. Only you can get me my 4 bloodmobiles.

Please let me know what time between 9 AM and 4 PM on Thursday, October 31st or between 9 AM and 12 PM on Friday, November 1 you'd like an appointment. Send your name, the day and time and a t-shirt size to MOTMBLOODDRIVE@AOL.COM. Just a heads up, I will confirm your appointment time the first part of next week as I will be in Clear Lake, IA attending The Island Fever Showcase at the historic Surf Ballroom this weekend.

Everyone can take home a souvenir from Key West. You have a chance to do something extraordinary, leave a souvenir in the Keys, "The Gift of Life!"

The 2019 Toy Drive for the Salvation Army of Key West and Monroe County is being held at the Casa Marina in the mini mart area. Last year we collected 12 large boxes and over $300 in gift cards.

Please bring an unwrapped toy (don't forget the batteries) or school supplies to donate when you visit the mini mart after you get registered. If you are driving down the Keys, stop at the Homestead Wal-Mart. You can also pick up toys at K-Mart, at Wal-Greens or at CVS in Key West. If you are flying into Key West and don't have room in your suitcase, I have the solution. The Salvation Army will also accept gift cards. The gift cards must be from CVS, Wal-Greens or K-Mart since these are the closest stores to the Salvation Army office.

The collection boxes will be by the doors in the mini mart area. You can drop off your donation starting Thursday at 9:00 AM thru Saturday 10:00 AM. The Salvation Army will pick up the toys on Saturday at 10:30 AM.

Please help assist the Salvation Army of Key West. According to Kevin Bickford from the Salvation Army, "We are in desperate need of toys."

Let's show Key West what the Parrot Heads can do!
