19th Annual Meeting of the Minds 2010
Gypsies in the Palace
November 4 - November 7, 2010 (Key West, Florida)
“Gypsies In The
Palace” Service
Projects
Blood Drive
For the last four years our
blood drive has been the largest blood drive in the Keys put on by the Community
Blood Center of South Florida(CBCSF). Last year we were able to collect 71 pints
in a day and a half. Our blood drive will be Thursday, November 4th
from 9am to 5pm and Friday, November 5th from 9am to 2pm. Donation
appointments will be taken starting after Labor Day. Stay tuned for more
information. Make your appointment early and help keep “The Meeting of the
Minds” Blood Drive number 1 for the FIFTH year in a row!
Toy Drive
This will be our fourth year
supporting the Salvation Army of Monroe County, benefiting the children of
Monroe County including Key West. Please bring an unwrapped toy(don’t forget
batteries) or school supplies to donate when you register. Age groups requested
are infant-toddler and teenagers. If you are driving down the Keys, stop at the
Homestead Wal-Mart or the Key West or Marathon K-Mart to pick up toys or school
supplies. Collection boxes will in the registration area.
Wesley House
Once again we will be
accepting cash donations for our friends at Wesley House. Look for the great big
baby bottle in the registration area. Wesley House provides numerous childcare
services to the needy families of the Keys. Wesley House has been a benefactor
and a friend of “The Meeting of the Minds” since the event arrived in Key West
many moons ago.
A great big thanks to all
who have and will help make our service projects a success.
You many contact me at
